Littleton Therapy|Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Dr. Ashley Jarvis
Psychologist providing recovery-oriented and emotionally attuned therapy throughout Colorado & Georgia

You may be an over-functioning, lifelong high achiever — the kind of person who always strives to do it all, and do it perfectly. But lately, you might be noticing the toll it’s taking: exhaustion, irritability, or a sense that no matter how much you do, it’s never enough. The burnout, pressure, and perfectionism that once pushed you forward may now be impacting your happiness, your relationships, and your ability to show up fully in your life.
Many of us spend years trying to avoid uncomfortable emotions — stress, sadness, worry, or shame — rather than understanding what they’re trying to tell us. I like to think of emotional discomfort as a kind of check engine light for your mind and heart: a signal that something needs attention. Together, we can figure out what’s really causing that light to come on, build emotional insight, and develop tools to navigate challenges more effectively — so next time it happens, you’ll know exactly what to do.

What Therapy with Me Looks Like
Starting therapy can feel scary or vulnerable — you’re reaching out to someone new and sharing deeply personal parts of your life. I understand that, and I’ll guide you through the process with care, compassion, and clarity. I create a space that’s both professional and human — where you can explore the hard stuff, but also find moments of humor and relief along the way. Therapy should be a safe, comfortable place to say the things you’ve never said out loud — and to finally make sense of them.

Thinking about therapy? Here are some questions to consider:
Do you feel like you’re stuck in a loop with the same arguments or issues in your relationships? Or even just stopped saying things because "what's the point?"
Do you find yourself dodging feelings or thoughts because you’re not sure how to handle them now?
Are substances becoming your go-to escape but leaving you feeling worse?
Does everything feel like it "should" make you happy or fulfilled but it just isn't?
Are you finding that your relationships feel more draining than energizing?
Are you the go-to person for everyone else, yet struggle to say “no” and carve out time for yourself without guilt?
Do you wake up at night with a mind that won’t shut off?
Life should be more than just getting by; it should be something you are excited about, equipped with tools to handle the rough patches that inevitably get thrown your way.
Think of therapy as an investment. It’s not a quick fix and may bring up some uncomfortable truths. But with the courage to look in the mirror and work on your stuff, you can see real change!
